If you are looking for style, the area of Chitlom, Ploenchit and Ratchadamri will be perfect for you. It does not have much in the line of cultural tourist attractions but it more than makes up for it in top class shopping malls and designer stores. So if you are looking for the latest fashions, up market nightlife and fine dining, this is the place to be.


The easiest way to get to the area is on the Sukhumvit Line BTS (skytrain). You can stop at Chitlom or Ploenchit Stations. From any of these stations it is easy enough to hop in a taxi and get to where ever you need to be. The Sukhumvit Line links up with the MRT (Subway) and all the other BTS lines, which makes this area a perfect place to have as a home base for getting around.


The Bumrungrad International Hospital is a short cab drive from the area and serves almost 1 000 000 patients every year, around half of which are Internationals. It is the largest private hospital in South East Asia and boasts over 30 specialist centers. It has been recognized in many overseas media articles as a leader in medical tourism.


The shopping malls in this area are always trying to outdo themselves with the latest designer wear and fashion styles. From the seven floors of Central Chidlom Department Store with top of the line fashion, shoes, cosmetics and accessories to Gaysorn Plaza, which is a very stylish looking white marble and chrome mall with the latest designer labels and high end luxury goods. Don’t forget to visit Centralworld either, with over 500 stores and the Food Loft where you can find almost every cuisine under the sun. There is also the Erewan Bangkok which is linked to the Amarin Plaza via a sky bridge. Both of these shopping centers offer a huge variety of shopping experiences for the discerning shopper.


For groceries, there is no better place to shop in Bangkok than at the Tops under Central Chidlom. With many imported goods and a large deli section. Another excellent choice is the Villa Market under the Ploenchit Center Mall. You can also find a Big C a short walk away from the Cidlom BTS station.
